Senolytics, Male Sexual Health, Money-making, and more.

People Unlimited’s January Super Longevity Weekend on fire with unlimited wealth, health and longevity.

People Unlimited members enjoyed an exciting and expansive January Super Longevity Weekend, packed full of ideas and inspiration for more abundant living. Ageless prosperity was a major theme this weekend, with James Strole and Bernadeane on fire to stimulate breakthroughs to expand money-making beyond survival, a most essential change of mind-set for people planning for a long-term future.

Ageless people with radical life extension in mind have to have a greater vision for making money than just to cover household bills and short-term needs. James and Bernadeane spoke passionately about embracing that larger purpose, both on an individual basis and collectively, as activists against aging and death, in order to unleash the energy and focus needed to push past all limitations in this area.

Ageless Education also got a boost as People Unlimited welcomed Aaron Traywick, from Ascendance Biomedical to speak. This company’s goal is to make available to the public, through a series of offshore clinical trials, life extension treatments that are proven safe and effective, but which haven’t made it through the expensive rigors of FDA trials. He spoke about many protocols, from breakthrough cancer treatments, to fertility treatments and, of special interest to People Unlimited members, lifespan extension through senolytics, fullerenes and gene therapy. Senolytics and senomorphics are a new class of drugs that can be used as targeted therapy to reduce senescent cells. By combining them with other treatments that rejuvenate and restore function, we can potentially reverse the aging process.

Art Bejarano continued Ageless Education with a wealth of information on prostate health. He provided People Unlimited members with education on monitoring the prostate through testing, as well as multiple options in terms of cutting edge supplements, treatment therapies and lifestyle modifications for male physical and sexual health and longevity.

Amniotic stem cell therapy and radical life extension.

People Unlimited discusses the effects of amniotic stem cell therapy for longevity.

Amniotic stem cell therapy, its relevance and use in radical life extension, was the subject by Dr. Steve Hruby for Ageless Education on Friday December 9th, hosted by People Unlimited. Stem cell therapy is a cutting edge modality that is currently available to the public, in medical settings for treatment of various medical conditions, as well as for regenerative therapy.

Dr. Hruby began his presentation with a discussion of the basic levels of health care:

  1. Reactive care – mostly medical/surgical, could be natural, largely disempowering.
  2. Proactive care – largely non-medical, foundational, empowering mindset, natural/supplements/lifestyle etc.

Both of these fall within the realm of genetic limitation. He went on to describe another level that he called:

  1. Self-active care – regenerative therapies such as stem cell therapy, which build health beyond the limits of inherited genetics. This is the area that people involved in radical life extension need to be active in to radically increase their opportunities to stay alive.

Different types of stem cells were discussed: amniotic, adipose and embryonic. Although all types are utilized, the most common sources are adipose and amniotic, as embryonic stem cells have been the most controversial. Thousands of research articles published on stem cell therapy show 90-97% effectiveness to treat not only degenerative conditions, autoimmune diseases and cosmetic conditions but also for anti-aging effects and life extension. Although there are pros and cons for choosing amniotic versus adipose stem cells, which were all discussed, Dr. Hruby prefers amniotic stem cell therapy, which he considers easier, less invasive for the patient, less time-consuming and therefore less expensive.

Brain optimization and radical life extension.

Two medications to prevent or reverse age-related cognitive decline discussed at People Unlimited.

What is your thought on brain health and radical life extension, is it related and is it important for your own longevity? Ageless Education continued on Friday, December 2nd, with John A. Robinson NMD, returning to People Unlimited to discuss how to take our brains to the next level of peak performance.

Dr. Robinson suggests a holistic approach of comprehensive health/wellness care, with a focus on pushing the limits wherever possible with non-toxic cognitive enhancers or nootropics. For those interested in radical life extension, in which we are actively engaged at People Unlimited, we need to stimulate and optimize brain health and eliminate cognitive decline related to age, especially the executive functions such as memory, creativity and motivation. Since the brain is the ultimate regulator of hormones and the immune system, the brain can affect every cell in the body; therefore a youthful brain may be the key to a youthful body.

Dr. Robinson discussed two enhancers in particular that he considers to be radical life extenders – Deprenyl and Hydergine.

Deprenyl is a prescription medication that prevents dopamine breakdown and protects neurons. Dopamine is a hormone that makes us feel motivated and is important for cognition, memory, focus and pleasure. Levels of dopamine decline every decade over 40, leading to Parkinson-like symptoms and general decline. The longer we can keep dopamine levels optimized, the longer we can live, and Deprenyl can help sensitize the receptors of Nrf2, activation of which reverses oxidative stress. For life extension purposes, Deprenyl is given in very low dosage.

Hydergine is one of the most researched of all the cognitive enhancers and there is a lot of information that it lays down new brain cells and affects the brain’s energy utilization systems. It is FDA-approved in the treatment of senile dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and cerebrovascular disorders, but for life extension purposes it is used to prevent or reverse age-related cognitive decline such as memory, focus, recall and concentration.

Dr. Robinson suggested to People Unlimited members that the synergy of both Deprenyl and Hydergine when used together seems to work the best for brain optimization and life extension enhancement in his experience. He reiterated that both are used in low doses, are extremely non-toxic and present very minimal side-effects.

Moving the lymphatic system to support longevity.

People Unlimited’s Ageless Education series provides tips for maintaining healthy lymphatics for the long term.

Ageless Education at People Unlimited continued with a presentation on activating our lymph systems for unlimited health, by Christi Christiaens, Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, on Monday November 28th. The system of lymph vessels and nodes has been under-studied and only recently in 2015 was it discovered that we also have lymph vessels in the brain. It is vital to stimulate a healthy flow of this system, because it is a major part of the body’s immune system and all the body’s waste passes through the lymph vessels to be processed out of the body. If flow becomes clogged, then interstitial fluid and toxins can build up around the cells, hampering their proper function.

Since the lymphatic system does not have a pump like the heart, physical activity is needed to stimulate flow. HIIT, high intensity interval training, is excellent, as well as jumping on a mini-trampoline, also holding stretches combined with deep breathing. Christi reminded all People Unlimited members about the importance of clean diet, eating anti-inflammatory superfoods, also green and red foods, organic wherever possible, and staying away from sugar. Avoiding toxins as much as possible in cleaning products and personal care products is very important, and especially for women’s breast health, using antiperspirants and deodorants without aluminum. She also suggested that women and men should massage their breast area regularly to stimulate lymph flow and women should avoid tight bras. Other tips offered were dry skin brushing, getting enough sleep, sleeping on our side, and sipping water throughout the day.

Taking charge of our radical life extension on a daily basis means adopting new and better strategies moving forward. People Unlimited’s Ageless Education series provides an abundance of important information that people interested in healthy super longevity and radical life extension can use to develop these strategies.

The biology of changing habits for a deathless life.

People Unlimited discusses how breaking out of limiting patterns can help support your super longevity.

The biology of changing habits was the latest topic of discussion in People Unlimited’s Ageless Education series on Monday, November 14th, 2016. The ability to change habits and patterns is vital for staying alive and an essential aspect of daily living for radical life extension enthusiasts with a healthy future in mind.

genius coaching people unlimited biology
genius coaching people unlimited biology

Otto Siegel, of Genius Coaching LLC, opened with the important premise that we must approach behavioral change from an action viewpoint. It is not enough to have the information; we must replace old habits with new actions. Habits begin with imprinting and are the basis of survival. An infant learns to survive and feel safe unconsciously in the first years of life, imprinted first by the mother and his/her family, expanding his/her sense of belonging as he/she grows, leading to strong habits reinforced by learned rituals.

This is backed up by the biology. The brain functions as a triune brain:

  1. The executive state, the prefrontal lobes - thinking/analyzing (what can I learn from this?)
  2. The emotional state - the limbic system (am I loved?)
  3. The survival state - the brain stem (am I safe?)
genius coaching people unlimited biology
genius coaching people unlimited biology

Because imprinting affects the brain stem, thinking and talking alone are not enough to bring about change; the whole brain and body need to be involved. We must engage holistic thinking and feeling, combined with information and action, and repeat the upgraded behavior multiple times in order to be successful. Otto also advocated a different form of imprinting that is invaluable - being reinforced in our changes by like-minded people who share our passion for life. People Unlimited members have discovered the value of a passionate support system to encourage new actions.

It’s good to remember that aging and dying are very bad habits in themselves. We are constantly surrounded by death rituals in our daily lives; every culture has them. For people interested in extending their lifespans indefinitely, a new focus is needed to replace these habits and rituals with new ways of thinking and living. We at People Unlimited find that being with others involved in ending aging and death is great reinforcement and inspiration for changing patterns.

The connection of sleep, hormones and longevity.

The powerful effect of sleep on radical life extension was the topic of People Unlimited’s next session in our Ageless Education series.

Do you know your sleep is connected to your hormones, and your desired super longevity? Well they are, and this was proved, at People Unlimited on Monday, October 31st 2016. Dr. Kirk Parsley, a world-renowned sleep specialist known for his work with Navy Seals, and for optimizing health through improving sleep patterns, shared his wealth of knowledge on the subject at People Unlimited.

dr parsley people unlimited longevity
dr parsley people unlimited longevity

Dr. Parsley emphasized that sleep is themost important thing we can do for our healthand longevity. All hormone production is affected if we are deprived of even one night of sleep. Growth hormone, thyroid hormones, insulin, the anabolic hormones that help us live longer, and 99% of all sex hormones are made in the first 4 hours of deep sleep. Quality sleep is essential for all cellular repair since our entire immune system is working at its highest and best during sleep. The prefrontal cortex, which Dr. Parsley calls “the simulator”, is the first region to shut down after a loss of even 2 hours sleep, affecting our ability to make good choices and decisions. In short, our entire overall health and function, sex drive, everything that makes us better, faster and stronger, depends on hormones, and hormones depend on sleep.

dr parsley people unlimited longevity

Dr. Parsley advocates seven and a half hours of sleep a night, plus or minus 30 minutes.He says that most of what is considered aging is due to loss of hormones, and the best cure is sleep. He suggests getting hormones tested regardless of age to find out which ones are deficient, and focus on sleep and lifestyle changes to restore production. This is a better long-term plan for healthy longevity than just supplementation which doesn’t stimulate the body’s own hormone production.

During the Q&A, Dr. Parsley was very enthusiastic about naps and said there is a great deal of research on the subject. According to Parsley, naps should be kept to less than 120 minutes, and 3 hours from bedtime.

Human DNA and why biological immortality is possible.

People Unlimited hosts a discussion on human DNA and how it relates to biological immortality.

Human DNA and biological immortality was the next topic in People Unlimited’s Ageless PE series. DNA is the subject of a great deal of research from the standpoint of human age reversal, including gene editing, telomere lengthening, genetic engineering etc. For anyone interested in radical life extension it is important to have some understanding of DNA, because the numbers alone get us in touch with the miracle of our human body.

Otto Siegel People Unlimited DNA
Otto Siegel People Unlimited DNA

Otto Siegel, of Genius Coaching, led the presentation. He shared how each of our 100 trillion cells contains DNA, which is not even visible under a microscope. Cells are dividing in an embryo 300 times per hour. When adult cells are not dividing, they are producing structure proteins that build every living cell and enzyme proteins that accelerate 260 million biochemical reactions in each cell per minute.

However, Otto pointed out that only 2 - 3% of human DNA translates information into protein. The other 97% is non-coding DNA, “junk DNA”. “Junk” DNA is really a misnomer, because it has many purposes, such as protecting the genome by keeping the genes separate from each other, genetic switches and regulators, telomeres, etc., but 20% of this DNA is “passive DNA” and still an evolutionary unknown to science.

img_0751
img_0751

Some speculate that our potential to live forever may already be written in the 20% of “passive DNA”. We do know that if the environment changes drastically, humans are genetically prepared to manifest unknown capabilities to adapt.

This is where it gets interesting from the point of view of radical life extension. It is known that our thoughts and words affect our DNA, and research in epigenetics illustrates the impact of environment and lifestyle on how our genome is expressed in each individual.

People Unlimited members are constantly activating each other to new ways of living by the strong input and expression that we give one another. Our strategy is clear; we are biologically creative when we come together to tap into unknown territory. We feel that by removing the de-energizers and the toxic human environment, we give our DNA optimum conditions to more fully express the true potential of our human bodies.

How to energize your career for an endless life.

People Unlimited’s Ageless P.E. education series continued with work advice for people planning to live forever.

Most people identify themselves as their roles in life and play out their lives within the confines of who they were brought up to be. Usually their value is based on what they do and they interact in predefined social and cultural settings. In short, get an education, have a career, get married, have a family, retire and then die.

However, for people who question the status quo and desire to break out of the box, such as People Unlimited members and the radical life extension community, we have the power to rediscover ourselves. We can choose dynamic careers/professions that best support us in an unlimited environment. We can go directly for what we want and strategize based on what works best for us.

Ageless PE continued at People Unlimited, with an inspiring presentation on how to work in a way that is complementary for the body and an unlimited life, by Susanna Lange, a People Unlimited member who works for a large corporation earning a 6-figure income.

Susanna had everyone assess two lifestyles - the person we were brought up to be and the unlimited person we have discovered ourselves to be. She reminded us that we usually feel de-energized when we are operating from the first paradigm, but when we switch to unlimited it plays directly into the biology of the body which is super dynamic. By being the unlimited body you are, you can achieve anything in your career and life.

Susanna also emphasized the importance of not being enslaved to our “to do” lists. She said that top performers in every level of business take breaks every 90 minutes. Taking breaks could be as simple as just changing activity, taking a walk, leaving the computer, going for a lunch-time workout, or taking a nap.

She also spoke of the importance of thanking ourselves and our team. Often overlooked and simple, gratitude opens up the flow of the body unlimited, building both the recipient and the giver and energizing the work environment.

We at People Unlimited have long recognized that the way most people have been taught to work is very death-oriented, with no feeling for the human bodies that are producing. Since we spend a great deal of our time in our businesses and careers, Susanna’s presentation was very helpful, inspiring and well received.

People Unlimited explores cardio for longevity.

The Ageless P.E. longevity education series continued with a discussion on the benefits of cardiopulmonary exercise for long-tern health.

People Unlimited directors James Strole and Bernadeane hosted a welcome conversation on cardio training for long-term health on Monday October 17th 2016, presented by Dimitri Larno, personal trainer and flexibility and strength coach.

dsc_4010
dsc_4010

Dimitri’s presentation was on training the cardiopulmonary system and how to stimulate this system correctly to benefit a person planning on sticking around. He clearly defined the cardiopulmonary system as including both the respiratory/pulmonary system, that draws oxygen into the body and removes the carbon dioxide, as well as the cardiovascular system, the heart and blood vessels, which are the delivery system of the oxygen to the cells.

people unlimited longevity cardio
people unlimited longevity cardio

Moving muscles creates a demand for oxygen, so using our muscular system is the way we stimulate our cardio-pulmonary system, thereby strengthening and improving the efficiency of the heart, lungs and blood vessel. This in turn provides many positive side-effects for the body overall, such as stress relief, increased bone density, more energy etc.

people unlimited longevity cardio

Dimitri went on to discuss that although any exercise that elevates the heart rate can be healthy, you must differentiate between putting miles on your body and stimulating your system. Many people get confused over what kind of cardio training to do, low or high intensity, short or long distance, even effort or intervals. There are benefits and challenges involved with each one. This is a choice for every person to make for their own unlimited bodies.

The subject of how best to work out always stimulates a high energy Q&A discussion and this topic was no exception. People Unlimited is an educational, lifestyle and social organization for people interested in radical life extension and physical immortality.

8 functional moves for eternity discussed at People Unlimited.

People Unlimited’s Ageless PE series continued with advice on keeping your mobility forever.

People Unlimited welcomed an exciting and energizing presentation by Ilana Lea, founder and owner of the happiest gym in the world, Enerjoy Fitness, located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The discussion focused on how practicing certain functional movements can keep you moving into the future instead of being held back by aging and degeneration.

Her 8 functional moves towards eternity are:

  1. Walk
  2. Balance on one leg
  3. Arm circles
  4. Touch your toes
  5. Get off the chair
  6. Step up
  7. Get off the floor
  8. The stick

Ilana briefly explained the reasons for these moves and how to do them:

People Unlimited Exercise
People Unlimited Exercise
  1. Walk - whether outside, or on a treadmill, fast, slow, whatever you can do, “just do it”. This keeps you moving, active and healthy.
  1. Balancing on one leg is important for everyone, no matter your age. You should be able to balance on one leg for 30 seconds at a time. If you need more of a challenge, close your eyes and balance for 30 seconds. Beyond this, you can also complete one-legged exercises, such as one-legged deadlift or one-legged box squat.
  1. Arm circles forward and backward help to increase range of motion, muscle strength and keeps the joints lubricated.
  1. Touching your toes, or completing a 5 step stretch sequence at least once a day, can really improve your flexibility, and help to prevent injuries. The 5 step sequence is as follows: 10 seconds each, seated forward fold, seated head to knee on both sides, seated butterfly and seated straddle. Of course, each stretch is to be done to your own level of flexibility, listen to your body.
People Unlimited Exercise
People Unlimited Exercise
  1. Getting up off a chair can be difficult for some. To ensure we don’t get to that point take breaks from working or sitting throughout the day. Try to do 5 get ups and downs from your seat, make sure you’re using your heels and that your knees aren’t turning in. If you need a challenge, get up and down with one leg.
  1. Step ups are a basic move, but again, if we don’t use it, we loose it. Whether you use real stairs, a bench or a box at the gym, step up with one leg at a time and see how many you can do. Keep working at it to help grow your muscles and keep your joints moving.
People Unlimited Exercise
People Unlimited Exercise
  1. Getting up off the floor is another very basic move. Lie down on the floor and get up, try not to use your hands and repeat.
  1. The Stick” is a tool that you can use to roll out the knots in your muscles. It can be used in place of a foam roller if need be. Ilana says that “most people don’t foam roll because it hurts so much”, so maybe try something new.

Ilana is a longtime People Unlimited member who was more than happy to share her expertise and knowledge. The crowd was excited to participate and have taken home some good tips on making move towards their eternity.

Deep breathing and how it relates to unlimited life.

People Unlimited’s discussed how deep breathing has an impact on metabolism and digestion and how it relates to unlimited life.

Christi Christiaens, Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, was hosted by People Unlimited in the Ageless PE series to speak on Breathing For Unlimited Life. The focus of her presentation was the profound impact of breathing on metabolism and digestion.

Christi discussed that since we breathe 26,000 times a day, correct breathing is essential to our health. She highlighted the difference between shallow breathing and deep breathing into the belly. Shallow breathing through the mouth into the upper lungs, which is the way we breathe when we are under stress and in survival, signals the body to store fat and crave sugar, causing insulin resistance. Deep breathing through the nose into the belly is a more abundant breathing style which encourages the body to relax and burn fat, leading to efficient metabolism.

Christi pointed out the importance of correct breathing when exercising, so the body will not perceive the exercise as stress, such as when we have to run away from danger. This triggers stress hormones from the adrenals, which are a healthy response to short-term danger but are damaging to the body as a long-term response to stress. Understanding the importance of healthful workouts to People Unlimited members who are interested in radical longevity, she instructed us to breathe through the nose during exercise, which drives more oxygen into the blood through the turbinates, and to slow down when unable to do so until we are able to resume nose breathing. The capacity to breathe through the nose will increase over time, building strength and endurance.

Christi then discussed how breathing directly affects the digestion because the stomach and liver sit under the diaphragm. The diaphragm is a muscle and without deep breathing to move it up and down it becomes stiff and lays down sticky fibrous tissue, causing the stomach and liver to become stuck to it. For optimal digestion the stomach and liver must be free, and Christi gave some examples of diaphragmatic breathing exercises that make a difference that we could practice daily. She also recommended a simple but efficient technique to learn that can detach the stomach and liver from the diaphragm gently and safely.

During the Q&A which followed, Christi advocated any exercises that encourage deep breathing and relaxation, such as yoga, as helpful to People Unlimited members looking to expand activities for their health and wellbeing. Christi’s presentation was simple and practical in nature, and the beauty of it was that it reminded us all that the simplest things in life can be the most powerful. Breathing is life itself and certainly should not be taken for granted.
